Below are practices, tips and content recommendations for organic social media engagement on Facebook and Instagram. Related graphics and video (hosted on YouTube along with a Dropbox link) are included in the Creative Assets section below.

 

Facebook

Best Practices & Tips:

  • Post content about MIM on your college and associated school group channels
  • Tag @makeitmovement and/or event page for any MIM-related Facebook posts
  • Tag any of your partners or allies who would be interested in MIM to increase the number of views
  • Tag any alumni who remain engaged with and supportive of your school

 

Instagram

Best Practices & Tips:

  • Tag @makeitmovement for any MIM-related Instagram posts or stories
  • Tag any of your partners and alumni who could relate to MIM for more exposure on posts
  • Use the official MIM hashtag #makeitmovement for any MIM-related posts
  • Use additional hashtags per post to gain increased exposure. For example:
    • #skillup
    • #careertips
    • #jobsearch
    • #chooseyourpath
    • #skilledtrades
    • #communitycollege
    • #makeit

 

Note: Using multiple hashtags (up to 10-15) can help increase visibility of your post.
